3 club comps

Had our 3 club comp today, that's including the putter.

I went for a 22 deg hybrid and a 9 iron.

Not too bad, shot 76 gross, but could have been so much better , were it not for half a dozen lip outs.

What clubs would you chose and why?

I would go for the 4 Rescue and 8 iron

I usually go Hybrid, 7 iron

Come to think of it ive only been involved in two of these since I started playing.

Hybrid and 9 iron seems a reasonable option. 76 is good scoring. I assume it wasn't a 9 hole comp

Is a putter compulsory? If not I'd be tempted to go with a hybrid and use that on the greens then take something like 6 iron and PW.

I've played plenty of these types of comps before but never one that stipulates you must take a putter.

Covers everything from 280yd tee shots to little chips around the green

Can I use my tour bag and electric trolley?

4w for off the tee and the fairway, 6 iron as I can make all our par3's with that which I think are key, and the putter.

4hybrid 8 iron and putter. If I was on the hotchkin then one club would have to be a sand wedge so the 8 iron would be dropped.

I would have 5 iron, 9 iron and the putter.

They have a 4 club challenge at ours which must include a putter. I'd add my 19 degree hybrid then.
