I know I waffle on about getting a swing analyser and I wish I was sorry but it's all consuming :o I'm down to the gsa and the skypro. Well low and behold I opted to take the plunge and go for the skypro. So while looking online to get it as cheap as poss, I came across the gsa for £150!!!! Back to square 1. Anyone interested its on strikeright.co.uk looks a very new company, seems legit though. Now I'm typing this I've realised, should I even buy such techy gear when I don't even know how to copy and paste the name of the website...

I am a bit of a magpie for technical golf stuff and training aid. No necessarily always for the better. I like these analysers but know I'd get bogged down in the data and as I'm trying to swing and play with less thoughts and trust all the money and time I invested in changing my swing in the winter of 2012, this would be a dangerous thing. Not saying they don't have a place, but like adjustable drivers, I am too much of a tinkerer. Perhaps they were right in another post and I am related to Harrington

Lots of threads on the 3bays GSA and I like mine, took it to my last lesson and got my teacher to tell me what my good swings were, so when at the range I can replicate. It's good bit of kit, if you have two iPhones you can sync them and set the video, to take you down the line and in front, it will then sync them with the data it collects.

I have the Swingbyte 2 and love it. I am going to stick it up against GC2 at the weekend, we will see if I love it after that.

Homer, I thought the same but I find I can actually be quite ordered about it. You can't work on everything at once but it does not harm to see it. It's interesting to see what changes when you do one particular thing.

I did a lot of revision on these devices and settled with the sky pro and I'm overly impressed with it. The amount of information instantly availables amazing also the groove mode is very different to any other device.
Well worth the money :)

I gave had the 3 Bays for about a year now and I use it from time to time to see where my swing is in relation to previous recordings. Anything way wrong will show up and, whilst I'm undergoing some lessons set the moment, it's useful to see how the 3 Bays shows the changes.

I think it's dangerous if you rely solely on the information to alter your swing, any more than what a pro tries to get you to do is absolutely always right.

Seriously, what on earth is the good of these things for us average hackers? My swing rarely repeats itself from one shot to the next. Surely the best way is still to go see your pro and when he stops laughing at your swing, go have a lesson.

These swing analysers are good, in that if you combine them with a lesson with your local pro, he can tell you when he is happy with your swing.

For example, at my last lesson I took my 3bays and recorded swings throughout, when I had a good swing I saved it as a best swing (it what 3bays calls them) we then looked at what the 3bays had recorded, what the video footage was showing me, what the flight scope told us and what my pro had saw with his own eyes.

We agreed that when I was practicing at the range, if I could get my swing to as close as what the 3bays had saved it would be helping me groove what my pro was telling me.

So, these swing analysers are good in that after a lesson you have something to compare to when at the range, rather than just guess and hope that what you have just been taught is what you are still doing, given that you no longer have your pro teaching you.

By themselves they are pretty much redundant, but as a tool to help keep you on track after a lesson they are very good.

Does anyone know if the 3bays shows shaft lean at impact?

The sky pro does according to the website - just prefer the way the 3bays attaches to the club.
