2's club , would u still pay in ?

We have a optional 2's club in our place ,money goes into club shop vouchers , hole in 1 wins the lot..

When we have same comps over Sat & Sun the 2's club is a single pot over both days ..


One of the guys had a HOI yesterday so he was on to claim all the dosh ,

Sunday is always the busiest day entry & 2's wise ,

If you always entered the 2's club & you were playing today knowing the HOI was got yesterday would you still pay into 2's club as usual ? knowing you needed a HOI to share ?

So if someone got a 2 they would get nothing because someone has already got a hole in one ?

Majority wouldnt, and this is part of the reason a HIO shouldnt get the whole pot (getting half the pot or it counting as 5 2s or similar has always seemed fairest to me)

Id still put in but because i see it as part of the overall entry fee and would feel cheated if i was him and none of the sunday players put into the 2s pot

I wouldn't, I think a hole in 1 should be worth 2 x 2's not all the pot, I'd be sick as a pig if I got a couple of 2's in my round and then not get any reward at all....

This is now going to the next meeting , HOI get half & rest as normal .. word got out to a few re the HOI on 14 yesterday .. most of us still paid in tho

That way everyone gets the reward for the 2 and the HOI gets extra

As I haven't had one in over 30 years of playing the chances of me starting in the need to get a few bob in the two's pot seems remote. Especially given my ability to screw our par three's with aplomb at the moment

I pay into the 2s pot every time I play with no expectation I'll see the money back. Having said that, I voted no as I wouldn't pay in under the curcumstances described but that's mostly because, as has already been covered, it seems a daft way to run the 2s.

Ours is treated the same as a 2. I shared the pot the other week. I had an eagle 2, someone had a birdie 2 and a guy had a hole in one.

I've always been of the opinion that a HIO should get the full share of the 2's.
However, if you have a comp over two days, I would suggest that's pointless.
So, why not split the 2's pot over two days. Saturday's HIO would take all of that pot, and Sunday's is up for grabs.

We have different pot for 2's and hio, makes more sense imo.
