I can barely contain my excitement. A month ago I teed it up in my first comp at my new club and won the monthly stableford with an average 36 points. This month I teed it up and played really really well, having only 2 holes I didn't score on.

Walked away with 40 points, which I thought might be good enough for a top 3. Sure enough, HDID email pops up on my phone yesterday to tell me I'd come first in Div2 again!

What's better, is a cut from 21.2 to 19.8! I'm so close to being a 'teen handicapper I can taste it!!

Long may the hot streak continue!

And if your handicap committee have any sense, they'll chop you to 18 using their powers to adjust newly awarded handicaps following early rounds indicating your initial 3 cards were a bit on the high side- that would be a nice bonus!

CUT that mans legs off !! Well played sir.

:D I'm sure they'll be a few heads turning at the club. I'll be giving them lessons next ;)

I'd like to think the handicap sec might see 2 good scores to cut my handicap again, but not sure if 36 points & 40 points is good enough to warrant that in the eyes of hanicap cuts. My aim is to get as low as possible handicap wise...

As has been pointed out, your handicap committee has the power to adjust a newly awarded handicap if it turns out to be too high (and it is), even if your 2 results on their own do not merit a further reduction.

Sorry - didn't understand that they do have the powers to do that! I hope they do! 18 would be an all time low!!!!

Wish I could score 40 points from 16 holes..........
And I thought Fragger was bad!!!

Good shooting Ad!!

Let's see you around 15.....

Put it this way, if the 40 pointer had been for your first hcp, you'd have been allocated a starting hcp of 17.

Wouldn't that depend on SSS??

Congrats dufferman! Top shooting. Were these scores off the same tees used for your handicap rounds?

No - h'cap off yellows... comp off white. Although, to be fair, at my place the difference is a few yards each hole. Adds up in the end, but I can only think of one hole (par 3 8th) that really changes between white & yellow. In fact, there are a few holes which having a further back tee takes some hazards out of play!

Monthly medal weekend before H4H, regular PP's on holiday so might be able to sneak out with a 2ball on the day, if not then next months stableford could be the final cut to 19!!
