You absolutely can't leave the other guys without a marker. That has also happened to me and a mate and it is no fun turning up for a comp that you were looking forward to but now can't even enter. :angry:

Excellent suggestion. Make sure you find out the arrangements for submitting a Supplementary - in advance of starting the round.

i will still enter the comp, who knows if i win, i wont have to share mainly be giving it my all to get my first HC cut, oh and theres the birdie sweep i dying to get in on lol

At my old club with intra club better balls they gave the singles the option to put partner required on their card.

So you put that down and if someone else is in the same situation you get a partner matched (more than 2 singles and it's a blind draw). It's not ideal as you don't get free putts or the help of a partner, the rest of the club were happy enough to accept how this non qualifying comp was run.

The supplemetary card sounds like a reasonable option now, if it's allowed. Aren't all players supposed to be in the same competition).

Provided the player has notified in advance to submit a Supplementary and it is marked and signed by a handicap-holding member, then it should count.

its a qualifier i think, well i assume it is at its a the first club major

and if they do get another withdrawal they will pair us up

The reason they aren't qualifiers is that you're playing off 3/4 handicap and also you only record a score for one of you on each hole.

There's no way I'd be paying to enter a comp where I'd need 42+ points off 3/4 handicap to stand any chance. I think the supplementary card sounds like a great idea.

I'd just go out and mark the card for the other team and play your own game. Fine if you want to put a supplementary in but one thing is certain. You will come out with an enhanced reputation for still turning up so it wll helo get you known which will be no bad thing
