On our society day yesterday a guy shot 26 points in the morning 9 hole stableford. I've seen 24 and the odd 25 but never 26 points before. It was a real fluke too, he is off 18 (absolutely a fair handicap) and shot 1 over gross. His best ever 18 hole score is 14 over and he said he just wanted to carry on but the soup and sandwiches beckoned. Just shows that when it's your day anything is possible.

He felt the pressure in the afternoon though :D ....22 points.... over 18.... normal service resumed !!

There has been some hum dinger cards on here recently, Ian (cc07) had his PB card last week too.
A couple of mine from this year, pity there were more than a few sub buffer zones along the way, I dont know if i'd rather be more consistent or ocasionally surprise myself.

6 birdies in nine holes, pity it was only a 9 hole comp.

Im sat here trying to come to terms with the fact that people take photos of their score cards :D :D
Johnboy, bit like gamblers, you only hear of the gooduns! :D
For anyones ability, that 9 holer was worth the 2 seconds it took to press the photo button! :D

On the green in two but left myself on the lower tier... three putts!
Our front nine is certainly easier than the back nine score wise but once it becomes windy, OOB starts becoming a worry on a few holes too. Been -6 after 4 holes before including holing over massive trees blindsighted for eagle too, ended up +6 for 18 :D haha if the wheels are going to fall off, why not do it when you have had a great start.

That's reasonable, I shot one over gross on the back 9 of Thornbury a few years ago when I was playing off 18. I shot 6 over gross playing off 14 at RND a few years back, so it's not outside the realms of possibility at all.

A mate of mine scored 50 pts in a society day in July. His society h'cap of 12 is twice what it should be, we all know that (that's the joy of society h'caps sometimes) but 2 under gross is 2 under gross no matter which way you dress it up.

And I guess that is the point. Every dog will have their day including me and Smiffy. When it happens then points will get racked up. It's bloody annoying if you've walked in with a 42 or 43 yourself but hey we all know it doesn't come around very often
