Hi,
as someone who is on the forum 2 or 3 times a day but does not post too often I am somewhat discouraged of late to see so much bad feeling on these boards.
It may be my age ,74 and thus a generation thing but I honestly feel we have a good forum here and should be able to debate in a less confrontational way.
I am hoping to play in the NW King of Kings in March and looking forward to meeting new golfers but should I bring my boxing gloves!,,,,,

Always happens during Winter and/or bad weather....

Sometimes even in Summer/good weather...

Nowt to worry about, it'll all come out in the wash...

Just as well you were not on the forum in previous years. This has been the quietest I have known it. Shame really as I like a good bit of handbags.;)
 
Never met anyone from this forum who I wouldn't happily play with again. People get rowdy when there is a keyboard in the way.. All in good spirit though.. :thup:
 
As someone who has taken a fair degree of brickbats over the years, and to be fair handed out a few, I can say that it comes with the territory. Some people get brave behind an anonymous keyboard. Some people post in a tone that gets taken out of context. Some are downright confrontational anyway. Stick with it. The journey is worth it. As for the GM meet, I've been on a fair number and can say hand on heart that even people I might have fallen out with online are usually decent chaps to knock a white ball around a big field with when you meet them
 
Dew, don't read to much into what's written it's only the internet!

Hope you do make the KOK meet in march it would be nice to meet you, but beware the NW lot are bandits of the highest order:whistle:

The forum meets are the best fun. Generally, in my experience, the brave souls who pick fights from their keyboard rarely do forum meets!

Do the meet you'll make loads of great guys and girls

There's not much of that these days, i just think "some" people are easily offended and take whats written on here as gospel.

I've met loads off here and made some good friends too, not sure they'd say the same about me though :whistle:

Having spent years on a football forum this is mild by comparison, as several have said people get bold behind a keyboard and it's easy to take a jokey/sarcastic comment seriously - I've never met a single forum member that I know but I'm really looking forward to playing in the Scottish King of Kings at the end of March, as much to put a face to names I've seen here as the prospect of a round on the New Course.
