Our January Medal which was postponed in January was played yesterday.

I was teeing off at 8am and as I picked up my sticks when leaving the house at 7.30 I spied my oddyssey 2 ball putter, which in September last year I had put a 2 thumb grip on, sitting in the corner....now I havn't actually used it since I put the grip on bar having 5 minutes with it on the living room carpet where I decided I thought the grip just wasn't for me and I have left it gathering dust ever since however I thought to myself 'it is a horrible morning (pishing down, freezing cold and blowing hard) so I might as well give it a wee whirl'.

Anyhow to cut a long story short I shot 72-3-69 to win the Medal and putted great :)...36 putts but that figure hides the fact that I hit a hell of a lot of greens in regulation and was left with loads of 30 foot plus putts and holed loads of 3-5 footers and hit only 1 poor putt,a pulled 4 footer for par at 15!

I tend to have too much wrist movement in my jab and felt yesterday that this grip improved that hugely....it will be staying in my bag until the next time! ;)

Anyone else use or used these grips and what are your findings with it?

Well done that'l be your win for the year ;)

Didnt think the course would be open mind, good condition or soggy???

Start of my big year Screwback....concentrating on weekend play!
:D

The bottom end IMO should not have been open,I have never ever seen the water as high up as what it was on 12,13 and 14...it was a couple of feet from being onto the 12th green and was actually on the front 10 feet of 13 and 14 was only playable down the right handside from the right bunker! 16 was a joke and really wasn't playable with water all over the fairway. Only front 9 and 10,17 and 18 open today which IMO should have been the way yesterday....I'm not complaining though!! :)

Radar was saying last night that his land is saturated and his old man reckons it's as bad as ever seen....let's hope for a dry spring!

Ive got the 2thumb putter grip and love it. Played about with a few different ways of holding it until I found something im comfortable with but now wouldn’t have a putter without one.

I never bothered going down yesterday never thought that it would have been open after being closed all week and then the rain on friday i dare say they will need to sort out the back log of comps to get through.

I was playing with a two thumb putter in the pro shop yesterday. I don't like it but can really see how it helps if you have any wrist movement. Congratulations as well on your performance in what sound like horrendous conditions. We didn't even get remotely close to getting out. Nine open yesterday but the while course shut today and looking like the Somme

How does it feel on the longer putts ? Can you gauge the feel for the length ? It seems to me that it would be hard to get the distance control right or maybe that comes pretty quickly. It seems to me that the hands arent attached and so in my mind wouldnt 'work' together.

This is just an observation though as I havnt ever picked a 2-thumb grip up

I didn't an issue with my many long putts JD.....I reckon I had 13 putts of over 30 feet and only 3 were left outside 3 feet...always been a good distance putter.

On another point I didn't use my Skycaddy yesterday for the 1st time in a year and wonder if that had a direct relation to me leaving loads of shots a mile away from the pins hence the several long putts!

If anyone wants to try or is looking for a 2Thumb grip I have one, less than a month old. £6.50 delivered PM me!

(sorry dodger, slight hi-jack but a relevant one! ;))

You always have to much wrist action!!!!! :D

Doesn't seem fair that Dodger is winning golf matches whilst I'm stuck in over afoot of snow!

Good going though, nice to get a win this early, takes the pressure off.

I've tried the 2 thumb grip on a 2ball putter, good on short putts, couldn't get anywhere with lagg putts though so went back to conventional grip.
