Just got back from a round with my girlfriends brother and to my delight (and shock) I broke 100 for the first time. Added the front 9 incorrectly at first and added an extra 4 shots . Double checked and was well chuffed. The thing is I went round the back 9 in 43 and almost walked off in the huff after about 3 holes. Glad I didnt.

I know alot on here shoot much lower scores but Im still a beginner and learning. Im totally buzzing at the minute :D :D :D :D :D

Well done matey.

Done it once, scored bang on 100 the week after. Things were looking good till the wheels fell off the week after that.

Suppose that's golf though. It builds you up then kicks you squarely in the nuts.
Stick at it if it happens mate. I for one know I've done it and know I can do it again and better.

Well done Richy.

It might only be breaking 100 but its the first big step. Believe me, there's many more to come.
Keep at it Fella!

Well done Richy, it's always good to get a landmark score broken no matter what it is.

Plus you've learned a valuable lesson about what can happen even if you start badly. Always try to stay positive and see where it takes you :D

Well done mate, not many break the 100 percentage wise so take a bit of pride doing so, keep it there :)

not many break the 100 percentage wise

Does anybody know what the percentages are? I've read somewhere that only 10% of golfers break 90. No idea whether there's any truth to it but would be interested to know what the 'supposed' percentages are?????

Sorry don't mean to thread hijack. Well done Richy.

Cheers everyone. This milestone has only increased my hunger for the game and I cant wait to play again on sunday. Its also given me more confidence towards joining my first club.

A bit of a silly question from the new guy: am I right in thinking that when people talk about breaking 100, 90 and so on, that they're talking about gross rather than nett?
