Following on from the best gig, this is the first proper gig you went to. When was it and who did you see and was it any good!

Mine was in Croydon in 1967 and most of the bands had top 10 records at the time

Traffic - no 1 with Hole in my shoe

Keith West - Excerpt from a teenage opera (grocer Jack)

Flowerpot men - Lets go to San Fransisco

Mind benders - filled in for Vanilla Fudge

Others I can't remember on the same bill

Set me on a lifetime of live music.

AC / DC ..... Back in black tour , newcastle city hall
Must be 1980.........had just turned 12. :o
Absolutely brilliant gig ...... Took about 2 days to get my hearing back....!!

New Found Glory, Fenix TX and the RX Bandits at Rock City in Nottingham. Probably 2000 or something.

Still, to this day, one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to.

Stevie Wonder at Marbella football stadium somewhere around 1983. I was about 17 and went with an older cousin who owned a local nightclub. Partied all night and most of the next day.

The Cure at Wembley Arena, about 1987 I think, it was the tour for the Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me album anyway. Very good show, but that's a rubbish place to see a band. I have much fonder memories of the second proper gig I ever went to which was the Woodentops at Oxford Poly, now they were great live.

I saw them support Blink 182 and they were fantastic.

The laughs of the crowd were audible over the PA when they played 'The Rooster Song'...

"Hey man, that ain't no chicken, that's a big co..."

Yea. I only went to the gig to see New Found Glory, but ended up with Fenix TX and RX bandits supporting as well. Never heard either of them and ended up buying both their albums.

I've been waiting for Leftie to post that he saw Mozart in a gig 1781!!

You don't want to be so rude young man ;)

I think that gig you went to was on 10th Oct 1967 at the ABC at Broad Green, Croydon and apart from The Flowerpot Men, The Mindbenders, and Tomorrow (with Keith West), there was a group called Art. btw, I think that "Grocer jack" is my most hated song - for some reason I can't stand children singing choruses.

Apart from being a Mozart groupie, my first gig (going to, not playing) was at the ABC in Croydon in May 1964 with Chuck Berry, Carl Perkins, Nashville Teens and The Animals. This was a couple of weeks before House of the rising Sun was released and very few people had heard of them at that time. What was impressive was that the group were on stage doing the opening riffs with very little amplification (may even have been acoustic) when behind us coming down the aisle was Eric Burden who started singing the words without microphone. Quite spine tingling at the time.

Went to The Star in Broad Green many, many times 1965/66 mainly to see John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and the like and must have seen one of the earliest Cream gigs there in Sept 1966. Boy, were they LOUD.

Ah! Those were the days
