1st Board Comp Win

Called in at the club for a practice knock, checked the results from the weekend and my name was top of the list! A bogey comp and finished 2 up which should/could have been a lot better, 4 up after 5! Very tough conditions though which explains the relatively high scoring by everyone else I guess.

First time I've got my name up, so really chuffed with that, only got 0.3 cut disappointingly though

Going to have a chat with the handicap second this week and see if I about putting in a couple of supplementary cards.

Our first "gold letter comp" this week was played into a 2 to 3 club wind, greens still a little bumpy and I was tied 11th out of 119 with 35 points. No one above me was a lower handicap than me (12) and second had a really good 39 points ... you've guessed it ... the winner 44 points! which mean that I would have to have played to a 2 handicap to beat him - impossible!

hear ya there chris , our presidents was won with 45pts the other w'end , (weather wasnt great) i woulda had to shoot level par to equal that , shot 37 pts, coulda had maybe 4 or 5 more , id still b 3 short tho... crazy
