Money List Winner
Was invited to play in a mixed foursomes event yesterday at a course i had never played in Bristol yesterday. Arrived with my playing partners (Zack 2.9, Ruby 4.8 and sarah 28.3) so it was a mixed bag of ability. Was greeted in the pro shop by very freindly staff and they had a good selection of clubs to hire, maybe not the latest brands etc, but overall good quality kit. Signed in, we were given our scorecards and pointed in the direction of the 1st.
First impressions of the facility were good, it felt as if you were no in Bristol city centre! a very well thought out layout with plenty of mature woodlands and water features. Impressions of the tee boxes was good, no tempory tees and virtually no horrible pitch marks. The fairways all played very nicely and the greens were all of the same fantastic standard. The course provided some really tough tests, and while i had a couple of birdies, i was mostly over par.
The signature 18th saw a dog left left approach to a raised green and to stay on the green on your approach was a tough test in its self! I managed to walk away 3 over par for the round which i was chuffed with, but it was a really tough test of my stamina and skill.
Faciities in the lounge bar afterwards were fantastic with hot and cold food and drinks all very well prices and cooked fresh on site.
Overall i would definately play here again, its not a course for the long hitters, accuracy and control are really king here.
Below are a few pictures i managed to grab which really show how tricky it was!:
