What does everyone think of the set up here? Seeing the pictures of the stand surrounding the whole it looks like a golf stadium. I think it's an awesome feature. Then you have the anticts going on. Caddie Races, singing, kicking footballs, handouts to the crowds etc. Looks like great fun. I can easily imagine me and my mates sitting there all day with plenty of beer waiting for the groups to come through.

I wouldn't want it at every course but I think it's quite good, suits the event and market they're appealing too and like you say looks a fun place to have a beer.

Sadly Caddie races are banned this year so I'm not sure whether that means they'll tone down the rest or not as well.

I did think the caddies diving on the fringe wouldn't be appreciated, maybe they could of set up a course for them so they could all set a time.
Certainly wouldn't suit all courses but maybe it would liven up a few dull event on the european tour if they relaxed things a bit. You've only got to look at the populatrity of the similar style adopted in the RyderCup and Solhiem Cup.

Its good for the fans to get involved. I think it would only work in america, i dont think European events are attended well enough to make something like this.

And you wouldnt want it at every tournament otherwise it would get a bit boring after a while.

I think it works really well as a one off. Gives the fans a little something extra, eg Rickie throwing hats into the crowd.

The players know what it's all about and what to expect.

I played this course a few years back and the 16th is a totally forgettable nothing hole, so I guess tarting it up a bit is necessary.

Call me an old fart, but the spectacle of loads of beered up Americans whooping and hollering and isn't really my idea of what good golf looks like. James Hahn doing Gangnam style is fine, but the caddy races and kicking an American football is a bit dodgy.

Not a fan of it myself but can see how it appeals to the Yank fans

You old fart.

On the commentary a little while ago I think they said it raises in the region of $10m for charity over the week!

Personally I love it (wouldnt want to see them replicate it everywhere though) as it wortks best as a one off to me, add in how much its raising for charity and its hard to argue with

Probably a daft question, but are the stands permanent? Could make looking for an errant tee shot interesting!
