During a friendly game I found a wedge lying on the 12th green. I bagged it and carried on with my awful round of golf.
When we'd finished playing I handed it in and a complete stranger said 'lucky you weren't playing in a competition, you'd have been disqualified'. I didn't reply as he was being serious and I may have said something perhaps I shouldn't have!
What a ****.
But, surely that wouldn't have been a DQ ................... would it?

[h=2][/h][h=2]4-4a/8[/h] [h=4]Retrieving Another Player's Lost Club[/h]Q.A player carrying 14 clubs found another player's club on the course. He picked up the lost club, put it in his bag but did not use it, and handed it in at the pro shop when the round was completed. Was the player in breach of Rule 4-4a for carrying 15 clubs?

A.No.

Would be worth making sure your playing partners were aware you had picked it up to avoid any misunderstanding.

It's not rocket science. The rule says ",,,He is limited to the clubs thus selected for that round,

The added club was not selected for the round.

I found a wedge and a sand wedge by the side of a green yesterday and put them in my bag. We played out the hole and were just teeing off the next when the guy who lost them came trundling back in the buggy just as it was my turn to tee off. I grabbed the clubs out of the bag and one of the other lads handed them to him. Luckily they waited for me to take the tee shot before shooting back up the hill as I noticed that my wedge looked slightly different as I got back to the bag as his was still in there. His clubs were G15's and mine are G20's.
