Played with the asst pro today and some new member to mark his card.

Me and Paul the asst had a match play going. on the 13th par 5, he nailed a tee shot and I was in trees left. I punched a 4 iron out to leave 130 and he made the green in 2 and was damn close (6ft maybe?)

He thought he was going 2 up, that was untill I holed my 8 iron from 130 for the Eagle. I didnt like it at first cause it was slightly thin, I though I would be at the back of the green with a monster putt, He said it was pretty close but it dissapered with the green contour and the old chaps in front all waved, and pointed in a downward motion. Rob the lad who was with us said I think its gone in, they all look like they are pointing at the hole.

Was quite funny because for some reason, me and Paul thought he had an eagle putt to win against a birdie of mine, he missed and tapped in his birdie and we were said ok halfed hole. Wasn't untill on the next tee we both clicked at same time and realised I had holed the 3rd shot, he was gutted even more. Hit green in 2, made birdie, lost the hole. :D

I eventually beat him 1 up. Doesn't beer taste better when its free. :D

I have chip ins quite often Keef, not bragging there but I just love short game, and am always using wedge or 7 around the green. Holed an eagle chip from just off the green when doing my last card. I was going to say its the first time I have holed out from more than 30 yards but I sunk one for par at goswick from about 60 yards, didnt win the hole that time though ;(

That kind of shot can devastate some golfers in matchplay especially if it happens at the right time.

Well done, great recover from a spot like that. ;)

I like to think my chipping around the green is pretty good and I also use a 7I to good effect, its just not something I ever seem to do :(

You'll have to give me some lessons where i'm going wrong fella!

No it was cut centre Dave, I was out on the right after punching the 4 from the trees left. I had a good line in and my draw helped to get it on line.

Beau Desert tommorow Hywell and then Whit Heath Thursday.

Vig I will no doubt have run out of good shots :D

Well done Tony. Did one with my old MX-200's a few weeks ago from about 75yrds, didn't know that it had gone in as it was uphill. I played a nice controlled punched 9-iron.
It's a great feeling, just waiting for the Holy Grail Ace now!
