Neither. It's 12 noon or 12 midnight. 12.01 pm is a minute past noon & 12.01 am is a minute past midnight.
AM stands for ante meridian (i. e. before midday) & PM is post meridian (i.e. after midday) so 12.00 am & pm is meaningless

Well if you're going down that avenue, no time actually exists because as soon as it arrives it has gone...........
It's why the 24hr clock is a good system. As MiB sensibly points out, when speaking verbally it is best to say midnight or noon.
