Hi all
I posted on here about 6 weeks ago that I was playing a 100 holes of golf in a day to raise funds for the Birmingham children's hospital cancer appeal. My 4 year old lad is currently 3 months into his leukaemia treatment and so far I am happy to report that all is going well. So far I've raised (on and offline) about £1800 which I'm so happy about.

My question to everyone here is , does anyone have any hints or tips to make sure I get round. Anyone else here done it or any nutritionist want to hand out free advice :D

I am doing it on Friday 16th august so less than a week away and thanks again for the donations I have had from forum users. Means a lot.

I would take a couple of changes of shoes, or failing that changes of socks at least and also a change of clothes or two and have a quick shower at some point. Amazing how a 5 minute freshen up can make you feel like a new player.

Lots and lots and lots of balls...............If you play anything like me that is.

Good luck mate and get the link posted up for your donations, all the best.

I did the Macmillan longest day golf challenge in June this year.
We played 4 rounds over 4 different course's, and managed to raise over £3500.
I'm a bit of a keep fit fanatic and didn't really struggle with the physical part of the challenge, but it would be a hard day for those who don't spend time in the gym etc.
Best advice i can give is to make sure you are properly hydrated during the whole day, and make sure you have a break at the halfway point, you'd be amazed how much more refreshed you can feel after a shower, change of clothes, and some food.
Best of luck for the day, and my prayers will be with your little fella.
Sort the just giving address and i'll stick a few quid on there.

I done it last year well. 4 rounds in 1 day.

My tips would be same as homers about change of clothes and mungos keeping hydrated.

Id alsi reccomend no full practice swings to help keep energy

And if a ball goes in the rough dont look for it just drop one when your up their roughly where it came down every minute counts. Unless the scorecards are a counter?

To speed it up , i am playing on my own but to confirm that i have done it, i must have a caddy for each round and a card marked to confirm each hole completed. if i hit one out of town then its a reload but lost ball in rough if i felt i could find it then it's passable to drop there with a penalty shot.
