Just had a call from O2 asking me to re-join having left them last year (following countless billing/technical/service problems) to switch to 10 incident and problem free months with Voda.
So anyway, The conversation, goes (after questions about usage and making sure calls/text and data were the same):
Op: So if you come back we can guarantee to be cheaper than what you currently pay.
Me: Ok, what can you offer?
Op: We can offer you a Galaxy S4 free at £40 per month.
Me: Ok, but I pay £30 per month with at the moment.
OP: Yeah, but we are offering you a free phone
Me: I already have a phone
OP: Ok, how about a SIM only deal.
Me: And how much is that?
Op: It's only £35 per month...
Me: Hmm, not sure you understand the concept of cheaper, let alone "guarantee"
Op: I'm not sure what you mean
Me: Err, well, correct me if I'm wrong but £35 is a BIGGER number than £30?
OP: Yes it is, but I'm still not sure what your objection is
Me: Do your employers know about you?
At this point he hung up on me. Either that last remark was too much for him (but I'm not geing to be sorry if he can't work out that £35 is more than £30) or he realised his mistake and was embarrassed.
Not sure he will get many sales.
No point to this reallym it just gave me a chuckle for a quiet afternoon.
