That sounds fab for practice, much better off the turf as well. That’s the only downside with practising short game at the range… hitting off mats. Still worth doing for distance control work though as Sir Bob points out.

European Tour Fantasy League is back

It’s says clearly above it’ll be starting in early 2022? I’m not sure why you’re saying it’s a poor show when they’ve clearly shared the info and it usually doesn’t start until around then. It’s only a game.

I actually meant a vlog, rather than boring blog. I’ve never done anything like that but may consider it - I’m only use to filming my swing on iPhone slo-mo to review then delete. Crikey it would be a boring hour 😂 My key to practice sessions is knowing exactly what I’ve to go away and work on...

Superb post 👌🏼 I’m 100% about encouraging people to have a go, and discover what they can actually achieve (and not to be put off by other peoples experiences or stories) “If you never try, you’ll never know” is a very basic quote but one I try to live by.

Joking aside I did and have considered a blog. I’ve kinda set a target (a dream/goal) of getting on to the scratch team or at the very least being eligible.

I have a full time job, am an active sports coach, am helping care for a family member with my partner… we all have responsibilities but can still have dreams and works toward them. That is in part what I’m trying to highlight - you don’t need to put yourself off by thinking you’ll need to hit...

Not everyone is like that. When practising at the range I follow a process going right back to the first thing we worked on, steps 1,2,3 etc to make sure everything is in its place. When I play golf I check my address and hit the ball.

Thank you. But I wasn’t bragging in the slightest, just highlighting a fact. It depends how you quantify accomplished - I’ve been back golfing (after a 10/11 year break) for 15 months, 3 of which were lockdown so 12 months playing and practising - I have knocked 12 shots of my handicap, am on...

Well said, and a very valid point about understanding what it is you’re trying to achieve. I always ask lots of questions and make sure when I leave that lesson I know in no uncertain terms what I’m working on in between.

And my point is: not everyone takes crazy hours and thousands of balls to groove something in. The problem with a lot of amateurs is that it takes so long, or so many balls because they’re not at all practising what they are supposed to. I can make a significant change in 60-90 minutes and only...

Incorrect, on so many levels. Whilst natural ability plays a part and ‘some’ people might reach a limit due to physical capabilities/restrictions we always have the capacity to learn, and ultimately to adapt. It’s a simple as that. Then it comes down to the effort you are prepared to put in to...
