I am a country member of a course in Scotland that has named holes. I don't know why but I always refer to one particular hole by its name (Balaclava) but all the other holes by their numbers!
Y Bala GC, Gwynedd, (https://www.golffbala.co.uk/) is by far the hilliest I have ever played with stunning views of Llyn Tegid (Lake) and the surrounding mountains.
It's a short course (~ 5000 yards), 10 holes (2 - 9 played twice from different tees for the 18) but is great fun.
I'd recommend...
Prestatyn is one of my favourite courses in North Wales and, with 'value for money' taken into account, it may well be top of the list.
I would also recommend Bull Bay and Conwy; Conwy being a very high quality course.
I'll give St.Deiniol (Bangor) a mention. Designed by James Braid, it's...
For a holiday trip I'd go for the Kintyre Peninsula due to the golf (Machrihanish, Machrihanish Dunes, Dunaverty), being 'far from the madding crowd' and the stunning scenery.
