    I am a country member of a course in Scotland that has named holes. I don't know why but I always refer to one particular hole by its name (Balaclava) but all the other holes by their numbers!

    Hilliest courses North west and North wales

    Y Bala GC, Gwynedd, (https://www.golffbala.co.uk/) is by far the hilliest I have ever played with stunning views of Llyn Tegid (Lake) and the surrounding mountains.     Best area of Scotland for golf

    For a holiday trip I'd go for the Kintyre Peninsula due to the golf (Machrihanish, Machrihanish Dunes, Dunaverty), being 'far from the madding crowd' and the stunning scenery.
