Forecast looks 'damp' at the minute so remember waterproofs. I've not played for a good 3-4 weeks so looking forward to making a strong play for the wooden spoon

    Handicap Improvements - Your story

First club I joined was Axe Cliff (East Devon) and I think I was about 11, played for a few years but found football, girls and booze. Picked it up again during Covid at age 34 and have been going for a few years. Handicap progression is in my signature.....is it as fast as I would like? No...

    Nearly there.

I set myself a few objectives this year: - Break 90 - Get down to 18 and be able to call myself a 'bogey golfer' - Play abroad Didn't quite get down to 18 but the others I achieved. Real life (3 kids and work) needed to take priority so I'm comfortable with that and have been finishing the...

So, played front 9 in +4 (40) today which is otherworldly for me! 5 pars and 4 bogeys. Tee'd off on the 10th, bent down to pick my tee out the ground and did my back in. Currently laid up on the sofa with what seems to be some lower back spasms. Absolutely livid as was well on for my best ever...

    Rugby Thread

Parts of this aged well, others less so! I definitely wrote it thinking we would lose by about 15 so wrong there but scrum and line out predictions accurate. Disappointing to see ‘home’ nations gloating in England losing by a point but not unexpected. I’d be pretty bitter too if I’d been unable...

I caveat what I'm about to say with 'unless they have some sort of physical/mental hangover from the France game', but I think SA could beat us any which way they want to be perfectly honest: - They will almost certainly do us in the scrum, might take until their replacements come on but they...

Just broke 90 for the first time! Shot 89 from the white tees so very very pleased. Interesting to note no birdies, probably reinforces that if I want to get lower it’s all about avoiding doubles or worse rather than birdies.
