Can highly recommend Shirley Park. Great members club. I used to get the bus there a lot when didn't have a car.
As you are a high handicap you want to join a course that is pretty quiet, and play loads.
Shirley was perfect as the course was busy in the mornings but quiet in the afternoons...
Always thought golf in US is very elitist. The kids who play are the ones who parents are members of country clubs.
We did golf at my school in P.E at 15/16 years old. Was just a normal state school. We got cheap membership at the local club and played loads.
Having watched the World Cup for the past few weeks, the PL games seem like they are 2x speed
You forget how good the quality is.
Worried for Liverpool, if don't get a deal done, this squad is razor thin, could be another disaster first half of season.
Crossfield is the only Youtuber i would watch on occassion. Been following him for what must be 8+ years now. Guy just gets it. Very impressive the changes he made to his swing, added 30 yards to his driving at 50 years old.
So many Youtube "coaches" just regurgitate the same stuff, one guy...

I have a young family too and we are not completely set on area, especially with prospect of losing services with our bankrupt council. Another reason it makes it that much more painful to part with a £3k joining fee.
Hoebridge is a nice range, £12 for 100 balls and the temptation by the bar as...
I started playing my best golf when I learned to preset my right arm in set up, and just let it stick to body while folding in backswing. The left arm is the pendulum i agree, the right arm very much feels like it just needs to be tucked.
I am about as left handed as it gets, couldn't throw a ball 10 meters right handed.
But play golf "right handed". Although not sure why it is considered right handed, when my left arm does all the work in the swing, your right arm is basically just along for the ride in a "right handed" swing.
From my experience, your handicap wont come down until you get a good short game
You can spend countless hours on the range whacking drivers and irons and it is basically a waste, as it doesn't translate to the course.
Spend those hours hitting wedges from 30 yards to 100 yards, and spend time...
Insurance gone from £300 to £600, rang up and they won't budge. Tried comparison sites and cheapest is £520.
No claims and circumstances have not changed, very very strange.
Fallen at first hurdle, cant even complete the application form o_O
Been a member of 3 members clubs over the last 15 years never had this before. Guess just different way of doing things round these parts.
Yeah that most likely is the answer.
I had a walk around Pyrford Lakes today, course just seems wild with all the water. Not sure how enjoyable that would be playing in comps and never wanting to get a driver out.
