Hi dm_lich. I would be up for a game in Staffordshire - it would have to be central or north really as I am in Cheshire. Even though I am from Stoke orginally, I don't know any of the courses round there, so do you have any suggestions or shall I try and find one? Steve

How the blinking eeck do you hit an 8 iron 175 yards?

I have a £9.99 putter and my putts per 18 holes are anywhere between 36 and 40 which I don't think is too bad (also considering I putt from off the greens as well - included in these figures). Surely nearly all putters 'work'.

I think alchemy is right. Best practice is on the course and home is for family time.

Hi I'm Steve Member at Malkins Bank - Sandbach (been on temp greens since Nov - :mad:) Handicap 20 - been playing a year and a bit.

We should all move to Scotland - bargain.

That's a long time ago canfordhacker!! Its not a bad course - bit soggy at the mo and temp greens :mad:

I pay £365 a year for a muni. You also get to play a few other courses for free as part of a links scheme. I play twice a week on average so it works out at £3.50 a round. I have to go for value as I can't afford the expensive tracks. You get what you pay for though I suppose.

I don't think lessons are for everyone. Some people are happy to work things out for themselves.

Hi I've just joined the forum. Anyone on here in Cheshire? I play at Malkins Bank - Sandbach (cheapish municipal). Anyone play there?

My putter is 35' and I think its too long. When I have my waterproof jacket on, the putter sometimes gets caught up. Its a cheap putter anyway so may look to buy a new one and go for a bit shorter.
