These days I can enjoy the company of, and learn from nearly anyone in this game so ‘standard’ is often irrelevant. Good character and spirit wins out every time. There is something compelling about going toe-to-toe with the better player though...

- Play more than once every three months on the course
- Find a way to sustain some enthusiasm; new club most likely or need to play more events away from home

Every course has its good days and bad, take a wider view OP.
History points towards a trend like that; Hagen, Nelson, Jones, Nicklaus, Tiger etc. but the lines are blurred a little due to circumstances and health. Anomaly’s will pop up though ðŸ‘
I like the chip he has on his shoulder... keep that intact and he could have a good few years. Agree with the point about strength in depth of the tour that will make it hard to sustain - but he’ll have made his fortune by then 😉

Yes, it would help to have more on terrestrial tv from a few conversations I’ve had after The Open... It also needs to tap into online sources to capture younger folks these days - my lad sees lots of sporting clips through any number of online news and streaming services.
