I can agree with most of what GB72 said. I've heard low handicappers at my club say "what do they want? Good golf or fast golf?"
Er, both please! I've also seen players in comps who insist on finishing the whole when they can't score "just for the practice".
I think it needs to be highlighted...
It concerns me that DC has said in the press that even looking back he wouldn't have done anything differently. Er, we lost - and you wouldn't want to change anything??
That said I'm not even sure what a captain does. Seems a cushy number to travel the world for two years watching golf, then...
Well i have to sheepishly admit that I still play my Ping i3's, black dot with the standard steel shafts they arrived with.
I've dabbled with changing them purely for an update but usually the gains I would get didn't justify the outlay.
I'm not sure if that is a ringing endorsement of Ping...
Do you know, it was a present for my 50th and you can tell I'm getting older as it's not a Garmin at all ! Its a Tom Tom Golf watch. Dunno what I was thinking.
Anyone got one? I just got the golf watch (the first version, not the brand new version 2).
It looks good in the box but getting it connected to the computer and downloading courses took forever. I've also received e mails from them welcoming me to Garmin Connect etc and all the links in the...
Funny isn't it.
I have just dropped 4 shots off my handicap in the last month down to the same thoughts. I played with the club champ who looked at me in horror and said "You simply cannot score from the rough. Forget distance and concentrate on getting on the fairways".
Much like the lottery...
I always try to be generous in my praise for others good shots and expect the same. If your playing partner is playing well it's a bit of an elephant in the room not to say anything at all. Going overboard is never a good idea though. I just say youre going along nicely and leave it at that...
The shouting was utterly pathetic. Grown men shouting mashed potatoe and such like. I have no idea why the players don't turn round after and embarrass them. If all the players did that and the corwd pointed them out it would soon stop.
Imagine G Mac turing round and saying right who just...
I have a 15 year old daughter that has started having lessons. I really wanted to take her to see some ladies golf but I can't find any! The ladies tour doesn't seemt to be in the UK much and certainly nowhere near me in Hampshire.
Does anyone know of any ladies comps I can take her to. I tihnk...
I have one too. It is useful but I don't use it as much as I think I would. When you are on the fairway you don't need it so much. When you go a little offline that's when it is truly useful helping to assess whether you can still get to a green.
Oh and one other thing,,,,
Your mates might take...
DC seems to have completely fallen apart after his Open win. In fact yesterday in Dubai he ended up stone last which I would have thought he found embarrassing. Cant be nice to be introduced as the current Open champion on the tee each day as you slide down the board.
so what's going on? Has he...
Re: He's back
Nice to see yhim back winning but what the hell did he have on his feet !! I'm guess shoes that help his various injuries but dear oh dear. Looked like cheap running shoes.
One point that no one has mentioned...
I was told a while ago that carrying affects your swing. If you are carrying a reasonalbe weight as you are, then certain muscles will be more tired as you progress round and this can change your swing. Kind of made sense to me.
Anyway I can carry but...
Rate mine an 8. Both courses are excellent all year with some great holes. Downsides are that the practice facilities are spread out and not the best, at busy times you never see a marshall pushing the play along, and for some reason there isn't a pro shop. There is a Ralph Lauren shop that...
