Despite a poor season I think Ernie still has a lot of great golf left in him - he shot a 67 today to start the week well - Els at 10-1 was definitely worth a couple of quid John!
When it comes to waterproofs I think you really do pay for quality - if you buy cheap ones you are likely to end up very soggy after a few holes in the rain.

Monte Mayor - the most bizarre golf course I have ever played! It is an adventure in itself to get to the course up the mountain roads. I’m not sure how anyone ever thought to build a golf course there. If you miss the fairway on a lot of holes your ball is lost!
Definitely worth playing once!
The man speaks sense! Given the choice between the two its Portugal for me every time. Penina and San Lorenzo are both fantastic and their is plenty to do away from the golf.
I once started a round birdie, eagle, birdie, birdie in my club champs - then had an 11 on the 11th before the greens flooded and the round was called off, a day of mixed emotions!
