We have full fairway watering, the system is old it needs upgrading. The levy will be for a few years I think.

Best golf shoes for season ahead - what do you recommend.

After a full year in the Ecco Biom C4 I can comfortably (excuse the pun) say these are the best shoes I've owned. Only flaw I can find is they're relatively heavy, each shoe 100g heavier than my Nikes and foot joys. Doesn't sound like much but its noticeable when you pick them up to put them...

We have a 4% increase which equates to an extra £96 a year. On top of that there's talk of a £200 levy for investment in the irrigation system.

    Twilight Hindhead

Last tee of the day, too warm for the deer…
  5. Shooter McPowick

How much do you spend on practice?

Silvermere is £15.50 for 110 balls, £12 for 70. Hindhead’s range is £3 for 30 which is slightly more cost effective but there’s no frills. Playing 9 holes with 2 balls is free, or at least included in membership. I’ll go to Silvermere once or twice a year if I’m desperate, sometimes I’ll hit...

I played today and..(Rolling) -originally created by JohnnyDee

A round where it all came together, still felt like I was steering the driver but shot my lowest round on the home course of +2 72. Everything was simply tidy. Mentally I felt in a different place for all 18 holes, didn’t overthink each shot, just pre shot routine, get comfortable and swing...

How is your course holding up this winter - 2025

Not too bad considering the amount of rain we’ve had. A couple of soggy spots that’s mainly attributed to the road running alongside 16. Greenkeepers are doing a great job of directing traffic etc.

    What grind?

Vokey has a wedge selector tool, I know you’re not looking at vokeys but it could steer you in the right direction as a lot of the grinds between manufacturers are similar. Worked great for me...

What was supposed to be 9 holes turned into 16. Much better with the flat stick, rolled a few on to save par and a birdie on 14. A few chunked chips but understandable given how soft and wet it is at the moment. Took the demo Qi35 driver out. Not convinced…. It’s very grey looking, prefer the...

    Which balls do you use?

New Titleist AVX. I’ve experienced more consistency since switching to new balls. AVX lower spin suits my game too, firmly believe it does what it’s supposed to. I’ll play the odd bounce game with something I’ve found but always a urethane covered “premium” ball. Definitely less consistency…

Great to get out, tee to green pretty good but heavens, I couldn’t putt!

Best golf shoes for season ahead - what do you recommend.

I wore my FJ pro sl’s the most last year. Not only were they comfortable and waterproof but I find them to be very stable on sidehills etc. You MUST go somewhere that can check sizing however. I thought I was a normal 9 and I wasn’t. This year I’ve gone for some Ecco Biom C4. Have only worn...

    Taylormade Qi35 driver

Is there more info or a link to the problem? I know someone who works at TM and would love to know what he thinks.

    Taylormade Qi35 driver

I’ll give the Demos a few rounds when our pro shop get them but I cannot see me buying one. £529 for the TM and £579 for Titleist - crazy money but someone has to pay for Rory’s 200m contract….
