    Club committees

One very important point to consider when taking on a role on any golf club committee. Make sure that whateverposition you are taking is properly defined and documented and you have a clear understanding of your remit. If whatever you are taking on is being done by a member who operates "seat...

Driver / Fairway address the ball or Centre of Stance

Had look at this video. This is exactly what Nick Faldo advises on his video on the Trackman site so that you hit the ball on the up reducing the spin rate, giving better launch more carry and roll. Take a look on the Trackman site. http://trackman.dk/Media/Videos/Nick-Faldo.aspx Regards, Scottyfan

    Quick grip Q? (Thickness)

Hi, I've had this problem. My hands are small and I wear a small glove. I'd been told many times that standard grips are correct for me. Frankly this was a load of rubbish! worst of all a Ping fitter told me standard was right. Later using my hand measurement overall to fingers and using the...

    New Driver

Hi, Please don't take offence at my suggestion. If your swing speed is around 80 mph or less take a look at a ladies driver from one of the premium brands. The reason for this suggestion is that the shaft will be shorter (say 44 inches)and the loft will be higher. This will mean that you have...

    Putter Balance Types

Hi Region3, No there is no absolute guideline on amount of toe down. The best way in my opinion to work ot which is best for you is to get your putting analaysed using sam lab or similar. That will show up all the good / bad points about your putting stroke and should enable you to work with...

    Loft of Driver

Hi, I just went through all this getting my driver sorted. First whatever loft you think you are playing get it checked. Most manufacturers heads have plus / minus 1 degree spec on the loft. My 13.5 is actually 13. I played with a guy in a match last week who had his driver checked and the loft...

    Unusual unplayable ball scenario

Fellas, I think you missed the point. If the ball was putted into the bunker it can be delared unplayable. However it cannot be replaced on the green. If in the bunker and declared unplayable it has to be dropped in the bunker. Rule 28 is very clear on this. Regards, scottyfan

    Shortend My drive

Hi Bobmac, My experience is the same as bignev one inch off the driver (now 44.5) resulting in much more consistent on centre hits much tighter shot dispersion and more distance (from the more on centre hits) Regards, Scotyfan

    Shortend My drive

Hi Dave, It is correct 3 swingweights per half inch. I'm like 23rdman I need to be able to feel the club head. I've just been through all this getting my driver shortened and properly swingweighted. Regards Scottyfan

    Thoughts and Comments Please

Homer, re reverse pivot I spent a bit of time stepping through your side on swing. What I see is that while you swing back pretty well loading your right side, when you swing down there is a massive lateral movement to the left and you left leg bows out collapsing rather rather than...
