I am going to Osaka 10-20 November and planning to take my own clubs with me and play a few rounds as well as some golf related shopping.
I have been to Tokyo twice already so know my way around Japan a bit but I have never played golf out there.

My handicap currently fluctuates between 10 and 11. On my home par 72 course in non medal rounds from same tees I have shot 75 twice and broken 80 at least half a dozen more times. I have played the front 9 in level par and the harder back 9 in -1.
My best medal rounds have been 80 gross...
I've never putted with interlocking grip and as chipping is a putting like stroke it seems sensible to use the same grip as for putting. I can do both but thinking that interlock makes me hold the club tighter/more tension which is no good when trying to gently flight a 60 deg 2 yards onto...
Do you chip with the same grip or revert to conventional? I'm beginning to think the interlock is not compatible with 'soft hands' and finding conventional better.
Not saying this applies to everyone but whenever I play with someone new who has a Scotty I play close attention to their putting and have yet to notice any Scotty user superiority.

Jacket depending on level of cold/wind/rain.

I find that no wrist break is fine for short chips but does not work for me beyond a certain distance. For the longer shots I like the hinge and hold. There is a great butch harmon video on this on YT.
I've probably broken 80 about 10 times and the common denominator seems to be that I have been totally relaxed and not worried about the score. Not played as much this year and only managed it once and that was unexpected as shot +7 on front 9 and -1 on back 9 for a 78.
Best medal score is...
