Coronavirus - how is it/has it affected you?

Just been reading about the ruler, sorry "leader" of the free world Mr Trump refusing to refer to the Coronavirus by its name. He'd rather call it "the Chinese Virus". However, according to him, it's not racist calling it that on the basis that we use the term Chinese food all the time. The man...

    Stock piling , panic buying.

Thanks for the update, we shop at Aldi too so hopefully there will be the stuff we need tomorrow (bread & milk, fruit & veg). Checked last weekend and they were out of milk and bread but had plenty of socket wrench kits, garden trestles and wine for dogs in :p

    Stock piling , panic buying.

I'm hoping that once the panic buyers have filled their freezers and dont need more stuff the shelves will start being stocked for longer.

    Stock piling , panic buying.

It's starting to annoy me now. Part of our normal shopping is 2 loaves of bread. We have 2 kids who go through a loaf between them in a week. Went to 3 supermarkets the other day and the shelves had been picked clean. At the moment we have the one loaf in the freezer which we are keeping there...

Coronavirus - how is it/has it affected you?

The wife is a teacher so classed as a key worker. They have been told that checkout staff and supermarket/shop workers are no key workers so their kids will be found places at schools (if needed due to no childcare). The wife is waiting to find out if she will be needed or can stay at home with...

    What chores?

Seeing as were are still working away here, despite some in isolation, no chores for me as such. Will be looking working on my putting, chipping and maybe full shots on the playing fields behind my house (foam balls only for that). Me and eldest are getting withdrawal symtons from lack of golf.

Coronavirus - how is it/has it affected you?

Read somewhere that hot drinks can help combat coronavirus by flushing the virus from the throat (cold drinks dont do this apparently) where it lives to the stomach where the acid can kill it. Hot toddies all round then :D

Coronavirus - how is it/has it affected you?

Erm, yes from my kids school. Also please note i used the word "may" in my post as it is a possiblilty, not confirmed and by no means "uninformed internet panic". I am fully aware how hard the schools are working, I'm married to a highly respected teacher at one ofthe leading grammar schools in...

Coronavirus - how is it/has it affected you?

Wife is finding out today whether or not she is required to continue teaching. She is classed as a key worker but because she has two young children she is hoping the non parent teachers will be able to step in. Otherwise my kids will have to go to a random school for the forseable future...
