    Couldn't positively identify ball

If I play a provisional, which I didn't in this case, I use an entirely different ball and announce the new ball id details to my PPs.

    Couldn't positively identify ball

Good point Swingslow. The ball from the first round was in long grass resting against the hazard barrier under tree cover (in a location we wouldn't even thought to have looked for it in that round. The ball found in the 2nd round was resting on a drain grate overgrown with grass but was found...

    Couldn't positively identify ball

The hazard marker on this particular hole is a timber beam running along the top of the gully. It is an 'immovable obstruction' from which we get free relief. And what I didn't mention before is that it was resting on a drain grate too ...

I should have proceeded as if the ball was lost, and also should have incurred the general penaly because I...

    Couldn't positively identify ball

Thanks for the comment Colin. The balls were on very similar lines, both finished resting against the hazard barrier and were only around 15 yards or so apart. I know that sounds like a good full club difference but truth be told if I flush my 7 iron (which I did) and don't quite catch my 6...

    Couldn't positively identify ball

Hi everyone. OK, so this is a tricky one, I think. Picture a par 3 with deep hazard (stream steep embankment down to a stream) all along the left side and wrapping around the green (just a yard or so from the fringe). During my previous round I hit a 6 iron, failing to account for the following...
