Variant on old level 4s ... play level 5s ... so 90 ... shoot eleven under for a 79 :)
Assume 4 par 3s - potentially 8 under but assume 2 pars/2 bogies ... 6 under. So you need 4s on five of other fourteen holes (bogie a par five then another 4 (par) to compensate) ... play sensibly and all...
I started golf in 1979 self teaching, by 1981 I was stuck at 12, persevered with getting a better/right grip for 3 months ... and in 3 more months was off 7-8. Eventually was off 6'ish at 16/17 years old won quite a few club comps etc .... went to college 1984 and bar occasional round 1-2 year...
yellow tees replaced green/white/blue and hasn't been rated since significant course changes over COVID lockdowns. so now quals ...just winter league ...which is fine as invariably weather coupled to ground conditions/leaves etc make it pretty miserable ... oh to be on the links.... another...
Lots of anecdotal on high scoring winning this year ... I've looked at approx 41 large field (club only) events at our club... 6 won with PH of 10 or less and lowest PH winner 7 in stableford. Average points 43.9 ... highest 47, lowest 41. The 4 medals - two won by single index PH ... against...
can add some interesting recent stats to this - first up, IMHO twos is twos ... pay and play - accept your chances we're £2 and pots splits, hole in 1 takes 1/2 pot.
anyway - Saturday Captains day - very good weather - greens excellent - we've four par 3s they played approx. 158, 165, 181 & 130...
Followed him during Open. He was spot on. On 14th Stanley from rough in right turned it over and had it not hit Marshall would have went into shite in front right ahead of 15th tee, was ~ 5 yards away. On 17 was <10 yards away and in all likelihood had it not hit caddie’s mother again it would...
Coach... great, your points/Qs...
from your comments it could be weight not clearing off the left foot enough on backswing... i've good AoA on irons so weight loaded there tends to stay... the minor reverse pivot was what the pro identified and hence getting me to work on getting weight through...
Apologies, long day in office plus hour at range... getting my left & right arse about face, so to speak....
Should have said left heel..... as I'm RH.
Been working on my weight transfer with my pro but I'm struggling to get weight out onto right heel and edge of foot consistently, especially as clubs lengthen. Fighting tendencies to have weight finish between edge of foot and toe.
Does anyone have practice drill suggestions?
FWIW I'm now Driver, 3W(15) 916H2(18) and 4I (22.5) rationale is....
3W falls in 230-210 from tee/to off-deck, 916H2 covers 210-190 and 4I does 195-185 bit...
high numbers are the max out, low ones poorest or from iffy lies. I has 5w but swapped for 916H as I felt it gave better options...
