Just got TWO "Like New" Jaws Full Toe Raw Wedges for £99 !
(And im sure "Like New" pretty much means brand new except they maybe have the labels off)
Think ours went up 10%, though they also took away a couple of perks (last year we got a one night hotel stay and a hotel restaurant voucher). Think if i pay in one go its £1150. For two courses on my doorstep I can never complain its not good value for money, but would like to see more...
Hotel & Country club so the team are all employees of the golf shop/team. However i think the previous hcap secretary was a volunteer but got some in kind benefits
another supporter of Sub70 here
actually, im 6' 4" and have my set of Sub70s 699s irons (5-GW) and 2 hybrids in the garage for sale - all +1.5" - dm me if you are interested
quite often.
At my club, on our shorter course, even when i have driver in the bag there is only 3 holes that you'd class as "driver holes" (530 yrd par 5, 420 par 4 and 375yrd par 4). However if its misbehaving you can certainly play without it, and especially in summer when the ground runs.
they licence the Ryder Cup logo to loads of firms - e.g. i think Glenmuir and Peter Millar sell it and probably more.
The Loro Piana stuff is another world. I saw an article that said the European team kit for the weekend was the most expensive sports kit ever. £810 for a Polo. £2k for a...
Dalmahoy (see my signature). James Braid again.
Two courses and well designed, both offer different challenges. Usually decent condition but could be so much better with more maintenance
i think the rake should be slap bang in the middle of the bunker - there can never be hard luck stories about hitting the rake - if you hit the rake in the middle of the bunker then you were in it anyway.
Our bunkers are mostly terrible (they seem better on our smaller west course vs the bigger east course).
A lot of it stems from the green keepers using a machine to rake the bunkers which seems to reduce the sand in the middle and kick up the stones below the sand layer.
Its different organising entities than the Ryder Cup. Walker Cup is USGA vs R&A.
I think despite the lopsidedness in results, the R&A have wanted to keep it to the GB&I so their players get more opportunity to play
they are decent - im on my second pair of trousers as i wear them in the winter with just thermals underneath rather than overtrousers. I've never paid £70 for them though - think i got the last ones for £40
