Men playing from the Red Tee's

Not sure which other courses yet, we're staying at El Plantio so we've already booked 2 rounds in one day there, we've enough time to play 2 other courses (day before & day after) there was a couple the Alicante side of Murcia that looked quite fun, we're not looking to pay big money.

Men playing from the Red Tee's

Thanks, Oddly I was watching one your youtubes the other day, El Plantio is one of the courses we're definitely playing. If I can hit it half as far as the youngster I'll be happy.

Men playing from the Red Tee's

Thanks, yea as long as I get a fighting chance I'm happy. Out of interest what sort of distances are the higher handicap society members hitting it? Thanks,

Swaying or being trapped on the back foot

Also my main problem, so I went for a few lessons. He immediately noticed that at address after I've gotten comfy got into a 'athletic' position, weight on the balls (as someone above mentioned), just before I started to swing I settled back onto my heels, I'd never noticed it. The 2 drills he...

Men playing from the Red Tee's

Is it allowed/acceptable for men to play off the front/Red tee's? Planning on playing some courses in Spain that are a lot longer than my usual, lots of 400yd+ par 4s, 200yd+ par 3s. I don't hit it very far (carry 200yds off the tee, 175yds fairway, on a very good day). If I hit a good drive...

    Impressed with Golf Express

I assume a lot of Companies aren't holding the stock anymore, I'm a niche internet retail business and I get a lot of contact checking I have what the website says is in stock. Its only been the last 12 Months, I know my few competitors aren't holding stock as I get phone calls from their customers.

    Impressed with Golf Express

Bought a relatively cheap club online (last one in the sale), they didn't have it. Rather than a glib email with a refund, I got a phone call at 9am 'Apologies, let me just have a double check in the warehouse, failing that I'll see if there's something else we can offer you, give me an hour'...

Why can't I hit it very far?

Practice worked for me, luckily I've enough space at work for me to swing a club, stuck a laser marker in an old club from a charity shop, straight line on the wall & floor and just practised trying to keep it straight and built up to full swings at speed, no ball, just a marker where the ball...

Why can't I hit it very far?

Have you been playing very long? I've been playing for a couple of years (started in lockdown), I've improved my distance with the driver by 50/60 yards since I started. I've actively tried to stay a lot stiller through the swing (I used to sway quite a lot which is a killer for distance) I've...

Hitting an iron off a tee

Thanks, yes that's what I'll try, I tried the Red double ones (as everyone else was using) couldn't get it off the tee so reverted to a wood or even an easy driver on the long 3s. I can get it down there but it's a long way from being accurate. I also assumed you had to use a tee, off the tee...

Hitting an iron off a tee

Thanks, I'm concentrating on the 'compression' thing as initially I tended to to go really round like a baseball swing (a lot of topping & slicing), so just thinking about hitting it on that downswing (rather than scooping) seems to help keep my club in a reasonable path (butt of the club...

Hitting an iron off a tee

Hi there, Apologies for the obvious question, it's probably been covered 1000s of times. Still new to the game, it was only after a couple of lessons did I get the whole compression thing (I assumed I was scooping it of the deck). When hitting an iron off the tee, but using a tee, are you...

    Beginner help

Also a total beginner, I went for a £50 ebay set of Adams irons and regripped them (remarkably easy), my thinking is if I can learn to hit the ball with a relatively small club, I'll spend a bit more on an intermediate set later on (maybe £400/£500) and really appreciate them. I did however...

    Joining a Club

Great, thanks for all your replies. Find a permanent base first and I'll visit the local Clubs and take the plunge, looking forward to it now, never thought I'd be joining a Golf Club.

    Joining a Club

Thanks, Fairly central Bristol, I've only played at Woodlands which is just a relaxed pay & play. I passed Thornbury a few weeks back and drove up the drive to have a look at the course. Looks pretty daunting for a lone beginner but I guess everyone has to start somewhere.
