I think it's a shame that more's not made of the Seve Trophy. I far prefer watching the team matchplay formats. Shame the pros don't seem to hold it in high regard.
Badly. Somehow it usually ends up all right, though. Okay, here's how it goes... I hit a rubbish drive - I don't know why, whether it's lack of warm up, too much expectation or just nerves, but I rarely ever hit a good first drive. However, it usually annoys me so much that my second shot is...
In a word, yes. That may seem strange given that I'm playing nearly all Callaway gear, but this is the first time I've ever had matching irons & woods - it just so happens that I hit them better than the others I tried. I've owned irons from Ping, Titleist and Mizuno, drivers from TaylorMade...
I've owned a couple of Scottys and my Redwood Anser is the third Ping I've had. The disappointingly dull answer is that they're all good, but the best one is just the one that suits you. ;)
On Thursday, my wife gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. He's been sat up with me to watch Golf Night and seen me pinging balls across the carpet with my new putter. I've got a plastic club ready for when he's big enough and I'm hoping he'll be the next Tiger... Time for me to re-read Kevin...
Looks like a good site. Not sure why, but in Google Chrome I have to use http://improvemygolf.co.uk - if I add the 'www.' it still goes to the pre-launch page. No problem with IE or Firefox, though.
Sounds exactly like my round this morning. Putter and wedges worked well, irons were a bit patchy, but didn't know where my drives were heading from one hole to the next. :(
It is, and always has been, consistency with my drives.
Incidentally, I used to have problems with the half/three-quarter wedge, but I concentrated on taking the club head back straight and not rushing through it - I don't remember the last time I mishit one.
Happy with my clubs at the moment, so it'd have to be spent on green fees. I love the idea of a pilgrimmage to the historic Scottish links courses, but I know my game's not set up for high wind.
