Yes and no
Yes, there are times available before the ladies comp but even if this were an option (see post above), demand massively outstrips supply due to the minimal number slots available.
Joking apart, I'd set the alarm clock if it was a feasible option, as much as it would kill me to get up before it was light.
Unfortunately, one of our 4ball's more senior members has a medical/drug regime in the mornings which would prevent such an early start.
Though I am thinking of...
Thanks. When I asked for observations in my original post, this was the kind of counter argument I had in the back of my mind.
I don't want to back myself into a corner on a discrimination agenda, if this doesn't hold water from a legal standpoint.
I figured the subject matter must have been...
Put simply, as a 5 day member, I pay exactly the same fees as my female equivalent, BUT, due to my gender I have less access to the course compared to a lady golfer.
It used to be that a midday tee time was possible as the pro released tee times back for general play if, say, the last ladies were off at 11.30.
But the growth in the ladies section has impacted on this arrangement.
That said, there are some gaps in the start sheet, which if condensed, would...
Nail on the head.....and therein lies the problem
I think those percentages would probably be not far from being accurate should a vote be taken.
So, from comments received, it seems there is a discrimination case to answered but I guess I (we) have to decide whether its worth being part of...
Whilst I understand your frustration, you're talking about something external to the golf club affecting how often you can play.
I'm talking about internal policies within the golf club affecting how often I can play in comparison with other members who pay identical fees.
Absolutely NOT the...
Golf ball diameter 4.268cm
Number of golf balls to fit in a square metre is circa 540 (100/4.268 =23. 23x23 = c540)
Average green size = 300sq metres. (say 20mx15m)
Number of golf balls to fully cover the green = 540 x 300 = 162000.
Decent golfer playing repetitive shots may be more dialled...
Whilst I can see why you might think that, I genuinely believe that is not he case.
I have played social golf with a good few ladies and there's been no hint that there is any underlying desire to be 7 day members. How much of this is due to the extra cost I don't know.
Similarly the average...
It's always rankled but we've lived with it until now. Previously we've just been able to squeeze a full round in before darkness falls but the extra hour or so allocated to the ladies has made a difference.
For reasons I wont bore you with, yes, it does make a difference in reducing the number...
My playing partners and I would have no problem if the ladies had 2x 2 hours midweek instead of 1x 4 hours.
This has only come to a head as the 1x 4 hours effectively excludes us from the whole day due to daylight issues.
Can't see the ladies going for this though, hence why we were exploring...
