I played today and..(Rolling) -originally created by JohnnyDee

Played Cruden Bay yesterday, what an absolutely fantastic track. Straight in to my top three all time favourite courses. Didn’t do it justice but played round with a huge grin on my face all day. The par 3 fourth is also right up there at number 2 in my favourite par threes.

    What do you drop?

I only carry 10 clubs plus putter as is. Driver, 2,5,6,7,8,9,PW, 54 & 58. Often drop the 2 iron and 6 iron to lighten the bag, especially at home. Usually only put the 2 iron in if I’m playing links in the wind, any other time happy with the 5 for long second shots. The 6 iron can be easily...

    Bloody autocorrect… didn’t spot that 😳

    Tony Finau using a V-Easy

@bobmac I see Tony Finau is using a copy of the V-Easy for putting

St Andrews Discontinues 3-Day Unlimited Pass

It’s a tough balance methinks. Keeping enough times for the 1000’s of local ticket holders vs visitor times for the 100’s of 1000’s of visitors hoping to play their dream course. The visitor fees help keep the local ticket price low, if you drop the visitor fees you’ll need to increase the local...

Dream Golf Experiences: What’s on Your Bucket List?

Fortunate enough to have played Lofoten, 3 times 🤗. Still my favourite course ever. I’ve been very lucky in the past to tick off a lot of my bucket list. Lofoten tops them all - Dornoch, Brora, Kingsbarns, Turnberry, Fuji San, Ils Aux Cerfs, all the Surrey heathland and St Andrews courses, and...

    The Masters 2025

Wow, that was some performance last night. I don’t think I’ve ever watched a more nervy, emotional and exciting masters before, it really covered everything. Some horrible errors but some amazing golf shots to recover. Really happy for Rory, hopefully he’ll kick on and win more now that...

I played today and..(Rolling) -originally created by JohnnyDee

Played Burnt Island Golf House Club for the first time today. A challenging little course with some stunning views across the Firth to Edinburgh. T shirt and shorts order for the day in the warm spring sunshine. Had a stretch of 5 consecutive pars between 3 & 7 but came undone after a nearly 10...

TV Series - What Are You Watching?

1883 is excellent, probably the best of all the Yellowstone stories so far. My thought on 1923 are posted above.

TV Series - What Are You Watching?

Just finished 1923……… that was such a tough watch. Still not sure how the Indian story fits in, unless I’ve missed something, but the whole series has left me drained. I’m glad it’s over. Edit: got the Rainwater story arc whilst lying in bed and mulling the show over. I somehow missed her name...

At what point are you willing to upgrade your equipment?

This, which happens to be right now. I’ve had my eye on the Mizuno Pro 245’s for some time, finally had a fitting this morning, just waiting on price and negotiation, but will be ordering to replace my JPX hot metal purchased 6 year back. The new ones don’t offer me anything more other than sexy...

    Dunbar GC

Love Dunbar, was tough in a 30mph breeze but the sun was shining and it’s a beautiful stretch of coastline.
