The coloured flags is something that I saw for the 1st time when living in Australia and it made a big difference, as like people have said, some greens can easilly be 1-2 clubs difference from front to back. Here they split the greens into 3 segments (A/B/C) and the starter tells you which...
Yes, chucking it down here in Dubai. Not. Ramadan ('ban-a-dram') started today so a quiet month ahead...
Back to sunny Aberdeen in December for Xmas and looking forward to some cold weather, rain and hopefully snow!
Basher - Agree with the best round one - I played 9 holes recently with...
Don't buy a putter until you've had a chance to throw it.
Never try to keep more than 300 separate thoughts in your mind during your swing.
When your shot has to carry over a water hazard, you can either hit one more club or two more balls.
If you're afraid a full shot might reach the green...
I would rather buy in a store for the sake of the 100 quid on a set. Buying in the store gets you better advice IMHO and most importantly, better after care. If the clubs break, take them straight to the shop rather than fanny about with phone calls, e-mails and postage.
Also, if you buy...
Totally agree with the post that Wilson should capitalise on the publicity they are getting at the moment. They def missed out last year - surely they won't make the same mistake twice?
But, something I found interesting (from reading a 'whats in the bag' of Padraig just before The Open) is...
More to the point, does anyone think Padraig should quit golf to give others a chance of winning something? Seems that everyone is playing for 2nd place in all honesty... :D
And in relation to the initial post, IMHO golf has not suffered without Woods. Crowds I would imagine have done as...
Gutted to have not seen any of it, but with the final round ending at about 3.30am here and the alarm going off at 5.30am, there was no chance of me stayin gup to watch it.
From reading on here and the BBC text chat, sounds like it was a great finish.
Absolutely fantastic to see Padraig...
If he tapped the top of the ball with the club when on the tee, its not a stroke. Similar to when having addressed the ball on the tee, the ball falls off the tee, its not a stroke... but it is obligatory for a playing partner to say "one" anyway.... Its only a stroke when you swing at the ball.
9 hole handicap from CONGU, but again, "qualifying competitions"...

When I only play 9 holes, I take the approach from CONGU of stableford for the 9 holes played plus a 'neutral' 18 points for the back 9.
Interesting post. My handicap is not an official one, but one which I monitor after each round of golf I play. I play my round as strokeplay as that is where my goals are; break 80 etc.
Based on reading from the CONGU site, I calculate handicap adjustments from stableford score. The buffer...
I'd be using them straight away - even if you keep the old ones for medals, but that would mean your practice games would be with different tools so prob not a good idea.
Hope your fitting is better than mine... I went to a pro when I was in Australia and although he was very good at helping -...
oh, I know who wears the pants in our household... but sometimes I do get to watch what I want on TV (assuming there are no soaps on!) :D
I'm in Dubai so no logal AG store, and from what I can see, nowhere at all that sells 2nd hand clubs :D
I have a friend who lives in Texas and works...
I've been been having a manic time at work for the last few months and the department who's systems I support today gave me an on the spot bonus to say thanks.
Nice.
So, half of it is going on nappies (apparently) and the other half is likely to go straight to the pro shop...
3 wood is a club...
I've had someone ask me from another fairway whether I had see their "tit-least"...
I'll stick with "tight list", or as mine are more affectionately called, the spanners.
My best scores tend to be a single ball round, but then the shocker of a round appears and I can lose up to 10 (that's my highest this summer anyway!). The course I play is an absolute ball eater with water on most holes.
A wayward shot which could end up in rough/trees on my old courses is a...
