Who has moved away from Arccos?

thanks all - appreciate the input I think what I need is yardages, and while the stats are nice, if I didn't have them I wouldn't miss them. When I previously used Hole 19, I had the free app for yardages. I did upgrade for a year to premium (£40?) which let you track whether drive went left /...

Who has moved away from Arccos?

I got Arccos sensors & link last June for Fathers day. Been interesting seeing the stats, but not sure they tell me anything significant I don't already know... I know at the end of a round when driving has been good, or putting has been poor. It does however allow me to know just how bad some...

I played today and..(Rolling) -originally created by JohnnyDee

A costly 4-putt on the 17th got me 38 points and tied 1st in the monthly stableford (2nd on count back), followed by a 0.8 hcp reduction… now 15.4 (y)

I played today and..(Rolling) -originally created by JohnnyDee

Had my best round at my club yesterday, beating my previous best round which was 2 weeks ago... 85 gross (previous was 86 gross) but the highlights for me were: - kept a 7 (or worse) off my card - kept 3-putts (or worse) off my card - started and finished with the same ball Non qualifying...

    Wedge Bounce

I like that it can be opened up for the crowd pleasing flop shot or kept square for something near from around the green. Don't really use it in a bunker (unless its right at the face etc) as use my 56 as a SW. The 60 is just a versatile LW. Also, cos when I bought them I didn't know anything...

    Wedge Bounce

Still playing an old (2006!) set of Vokey SM wedges... 52.08 / 56.12 / 60.08 Like the set up, but if buying new I would probably up the bounce on the 52 as the turf on my course varies so much between summer and winter.

    Goals For 2023

Last year my objective was to play more (coming from almost no golf, that wasn't hard to achieve!) and to get a handicap. Joined a club and have played almost every week since Feb. Got a 22 handicap, and worked down to 17.2. Plan for this year is to get the handicap to 12... But rather than...

    I bought today.....

An Odyssey Strokelab 7 Nano... I bought a Scotty Cameron last summer, because it was a Scotty Cameron, and have never really got on with it. Going back to an Odyssey and hopefully it performs better (side-by-side with the Scotty in the pro shop it certainly did so hoping the greens are as flat...

Membership at a club in the Weybridge / Surrey area?

We (family membership) joined Foxhills this time last year and have really enjoyed our time there. Plenty competition rounds in the year, great social side with other new members and not had an issue booking a round (so long as you are quick on the 15 day booking window) and if you do struggle...

    Varifocal glasses and golf

Slight update.... 10 days into life with glasses, I have got used to the transition in day-to-day activities, but golf is a complete no. The ball just sits in the transition line when addressing the ball and becomes blurry / floaty. I can read a putt but when I address the putt I see some odd...

    Varifocal glasses and golf

Well that didn’t go well. 3 points on the 1st. Had only managed to score another 4 points by the 8th. Putting was near impossible and the feeling of seasickness was too much. Put the glasses away and managed 22 points from the remaining 10 holes. These lenses aren’t working out for me ?

Do you use a carry bag with your trolley/cart?

I looked at a Titleist hybrid 14 when I got my Motocaddy M1 but the guy in the shop talked me out of it… said it wasn’t much better than my Players 4+ So I’ve kept the 4+ for winter and got a cart bag for summer.

    Varifocal glasses and golf

So old age has caught up with me and I’m now the proud owner of a pair of varifocals… Leaving the shop I felt like I had spent the afternoon on the sauce. Just been to the driving range and Jesus that was bad! Had to take them off as the motion was driving me mad. Is this something I’ll...
