Played Burhill old course yesterday, my course handicap was 5 more than my handicap(!) and I managed to shoot 2 under (course handicap 22, I shot 20). Very enjoyable course, greens were very tricky but loved it!
Shot a PB of 84 on Friday, 41 points for the 3 day weekend comp!
One of our group also shoots 41 points on the Saturday with a slightly lower handicap, not sure if that means he'll win the overall thing, but still proud of my achievement!
I actually sent quite a long email to the new-ish GM here at Redbourn about the current state of the course, the biggest issue we find is our tee boxes. They're not flat, look like they've been dug up by moles, and there's just no consistency.
Greens are doing ok, just quite slow.
Goal for 2024 was to get my handicap into the teens, finished with 18.8!
2025 goal - try and get below 15 and shoot one round under 85 (our course is par 70).
New one for me, my driver used to be strongest club in the bag and now it's the weakest - I have no idea where it's going to go every time. Need to get a lesson booked I think and see what's going wrong!
