You butt trim to length - butt trimming does not influence flex or the playing characteristics of the shaft. Tip trimming is different - keeeping it simple, it can stiffen up the shaft and change its playing characteristics. The weight of the head also influences flex, in that a heavier head...

It is indeed, but not that product. I’ve bought the ‘sprung rubber heavy duty floor tile’, which they sell in various thicknesses. They’ll send you a sample if you’d like to try before you buy.
