Just played one so far, that was in an interclub mixed competition, we lost on the 19th after a handicap mix up where we were told we were giving 3 shots when in fact we should have been getting 4, we had already played 2 shot holes before an innocent question by me revealed the error.
Went to Chorley today for a practice ahead of a match against them in a couple of weeks, there was a very cold wind and it was my 4th round in 4 days and my game wasn't great either.
I would reckon 10-12, 4 showing on HDID, an ace in a pairs event, an eagle 2 on the 2nd at St Andrews Jubilee course (only time i have driven a par 4 green) and several when out just playing casual golf.
Our first shield match of the year today at Bolton Old Links, despite an horrendous start over the first 3 holes I played well for the rest of the round and delighted to win my match 2&1 after giving 8 shots, the team also won so it was a great start.
However the main talking point of the day...
one of our majors today, I started nicely, parred the first and just missed my par on the 2nd, just short of the par 5 3rd in 3 and then 2 duffed chips and 3 putts later carded an 8, i also had 8s on 7th, 11th and 17th. i am so erratic at the moment, putting was a little better though.
Today I made the long drive up to Silloth and back for their ladies singles open, it was quite blowy and showery when we started and I started well although I missed a short putt on the first, I parred the 2nd and 3rd, then the waiting started, it was painful, we were waiting on nearly every...
I have been thinking about balls recently, I have played with Prov1s for the last several years, however, I have had a change in circumstances and have to watch what I spend and I cant really justify the cost. I am currently using Srixon Qstar, mainly because the guy I play mixed golf with uses...
When I joined my club, I didn't know anyone and due to my circumstances intended to keep a low profile, but it was not in my nature, also winning the first 3 comps didn't help either.
we had a foursome today, a qualifier for a county event, my partner and I gelled well and despite me missing a couple of short putts, we came out on top. I hope my decent form continues until the weekend, I am playing in a singles open at Sillloth on Saturday, it is one of my favourite courses...
First open of the year today at Manchester Golf Club, and our team won :D I mostly played well and my putting was better, although I still had a couple of 3 putts. Highlight was holing a 10 foot downhill putt for a birdie on the 5th.
Today was out first handicap qualifier of the year, I have to be honest I am not sure it should have been one as the course isn't in the best condition and the greens are quite bumpy. I started pretty well although the greens were very slow and I had a couple of 3 putts. Then after some back...
Today we had an interclub mixed knockout match at Saddleworth, the captains got together and worked all the handicaps out and gave us our cards, it was Foursomes and we were giving 3 shots. 2 of the 3 were given in the first 6 holes, we lost both.
As we were wating for the men to drive off on...
