Not a lot you can do when it is announced the morning of the competition that we will be on temporary greens, Ladies section run and organize our own competitions but have no control over the course setup.

Yesterday was our first competition of the new season, rather annoyingly we were on temporary greens because " we were told to put temporaries on so we can get the course in the best possible condition for the open men's competition on Saturday"

There may be a way for your handicap secretary to delete the unattested round and then re enter it without it needing attestation, I haven't done handicaps for a few years so I could be wrong but it is worth checking.

Even when I go down to my lowest 7.8, I never really considered my elf good, I still hit too many poor shots and my putting was never great, so I go for 0-5

I have been to something a bit different tonight, a candlelight concert with a string quartet playing the music of Leonard Cohen. I was a bit unsure what to expect because LC's songs are more about the lyrics than the music, but it was in fact very good

Wont be long now before mats are put away until the end of the year, at my club we do advocate using a mat anywhere in the general area, which seems sensible tome as we do not run qualifying competitions during the winter.

I played at Crosland Heath, near Huddersfield today in a society, having been playing off mats for that last 4 months, playing of grass was a challenge. My game was mixed and I was very erratic with my shots of the grass, throwing away good positions on several holes. The course was really nice...

I hit the ball well today tee to green but my goodness, after a big improvement in my putting recently it was as bad as it could be 3 putts on 3 and 4 a 5 putt on 6 all after being on the green in regulation missed a 2 footer for par on 7 after a nice chip and then had a 4 putt on the 11th. I...

I played 14 hoes today, lovely sunny day, really good signs that spring isn't far away and with spring comes the new season and who knows what that will bring.

I will happily join in at GP if dates suit.

I agree Grange Park really surprised me when I played it, it really is a lot better.
