NO JACKET REQUIRED!!
As I posted a few weeks back watch -this space.
Last Friday we had our AGM and the vote was taken to do away with the Jacket and Tie on all but 2 of our days out. Unless any other course we were playing stipulated it, seeing as a full day is only costing £65 for members I...
Cheers for your best wishes
The society has crept over into the 50 something dominant, we still have 30's & 40's as yet no one has raised the subject of cutting down the day.
Like I said above our oldest member is 72, think he gets more enjoyment from being out with the boys all day.
Sharing...
Keep in touch that is on the agenda - especially as this years vice has a few mates would join if we weren't so formal.
I think it's something that has been in place since the society was formed in the days when Golf was a bit exclusive, and the founders saw a society as a way of getting to...
Rather than start a new thread I have given this a bump.
As no doubt a few new souls have stumbled onto this forum.
Heres the link to the society website : http://www.chinehamgolfsociety.co.uk
Interested PM me or ask on here.
Cheers
I tongue in cheek put a Scotty Go-Lo mallet on my Crimbo list year before last, fair play (and to my total shock) Mrs JBS delivered.
I need some new boots as the heels on my winter pair are beginning to get a bit shabby, so I might stick my tongue in my cheek again and ask for some Footjoys or...
Our society just did 4 days at Barnham Broom, we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Pretty sure it was booked through Golf Breaks.
There are 2 Courses, Valley and Hilltop for some reason we played 3 days Valley and last day Hill, if we were to go again I think we would ask to alternate for 2 & 2...
Nikon or whoevers Wall-e range finder: walk to the ball have a look around, ferret around in your bag, take it out, remove from case, switch on, find the flag (which is dormant due to no wind and is sat behind the pole from the last breeze), let it settle and give you distance, switch off put it...
Mine reckons I buy a new Shirt everytime I play golf, blimey if I did she would have less wardrobe space than me. So I guess I had better pop along and keep her happy.
Wish me luck :mmm:
Chores round the house bulk up the brownie point bank account, Sunday afternoon off to Gatport Airwick bung the clubs in the Hold and buzz off to the Algarve for a few days........ Can't wait!! :one:
Seeing as I started this thread when the days were short and cold, I thought that now more of us are in the swing of the season that I would give it a bump back up the board.
Our next society day out is at Traditions in Surrey on Thursday 11th June. Closing date for entries is the 4th June.
If...
Same here, I can pepper the 50yard board at any range, mats or grass, ball after ball for fun: out on the course SW in hand 130yrds no sweat, 10 feet just as easy :o
Hmmmm just made me think of a recent society day, going well on the green for 2 with a fortuitous 2nd, putted to within 2-3 inches for the easiest par. Being the 1st of 4 to putt out I said I would finish it off and not wishing to step on anyone's line casually went to tap it in with the back of...
Too bloody tight to walk off, paid my money and getting plenty of value per stroke as they rack up ;)
Only had to walk off for rain on a society day afternoon scramble which was a shame as despite rooster tails as the ball crossed flooded greens I was sinking everything from whatever distance...
Through not playing enough I am not surprised at one or two (3-4) trips through the windscreen during a round so I guess I am a bit more relaxed about picking glass out of my face.
However about 4 years back I did witness the most bizarre opening 2 holes with my mate who has a very solid game...
