We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!
Definitely not a wind up. He's not their head pro. I will be speaking to the manager on Tuesday (they day after the "pro" fails to give me a lesson yet again on Monday).
Sim 2 Max with Ventus 5-A Fujikura shafts 5-9, PW and SW for £829 - this was in early March. Just gone back through my messages - I found them for £599 at clubhousegolf at the time and queried it with him but he said the way they were assembled were no good, compared to the ones he could get...
It was £500 for 10x 1 hour lessons - this is South East England and the rate is similar at another course 10 miles away.
I'm not unhappy with this rate.
My expectation is that he's probably self employed (though he does wear clothing with their logo on it). As I see it, the manager can get involved as the club's reputation is at risk; or he may want to have nothing to do with it and say it's between myself and the pro. If it's the latter, I will...
He told me to disregard sets of clubs from places like this as they apparently assembled on the cheap, whereas the ones I have are apparently assembled with much greater care.

Based on the unanimous voice from this Forum so far, I will be speaking to the manager of the club in the first instance and not engaging further with the "pro".
The irons are Taylormade Sim 2 with senior shafts - I'm sure I could sell them if that is what I choose to do.
I have been to the range a few times. I started watching a few tuition videos on Youtube e.g. Danny Maude and that seems to have made things worse. My "pro" said that watching them was...
No it's not a wind up sadly. I now have a very nice set of clubs which I won't be using. Feels like I was told to get a brand new car to learn to drive in. I have put my trust into the "pro" and I've now got a very bitter taste in my mouth regarding golf. On further checking he's not listed as a...
Hi - I recently decided that I would like to take up golf and enquired at my local golf club about lessons. At the first lesson, I turned up with my set of golf clubs which I got 30 years ago but which have seen little use. The Pro said he couldn't teach me with them as they were no good, so I...
