    Best course played & why?

There are cars parked in the car park? Gadzooks! Never mind the increase in price since 2019, look at how many folk in that post have left the forum.

    Christmas 2025

Lost my mum in law a couple of weeks ago, so Christmas in this house is going to be very low key. Could probably do without it..

    Apps to manage Swindles/Fiddles/Roll Ups

A buddy of mine is developing an App to manage scores, prizes, handicaps, results for informal Swindles, Roll-Ups etc. It has come out his his frustration with our Seniors doing much on sheets of paper! :-) He's shown me the prototype and it looks impressive. I said I would ask for the...

    Surrey Golf Course Membership

Crikey.. they have mentioned all the "less good ones above!" I guess it depends on your budget and you network of connections! You're on the doorstep of Woking, West Hill and Worplesdon, just for starters. Which club did you move from?

    Newbie feeling completely lost

In general, people who worry about venturing out too early should probably go and play. Those who steam in, probably shouldn't!🤣🤣🤣 @Spreadly tell us where you are, folk can recommend another pro if you stop seeing this one.. or get you out for a game!😉

    Random Irritations

Techies being let loose without supervision. Desperately annoying but very lucrative for those who clean up the mess.

    Newbie feeling completely lost

My general knee jerk reaction? That's lots of lessons and cash spent to still yet to get some mud on a club face.😉 If it wasn't December, I'd say get yourself to a pitch and putt etc for a go. But I would ask the pro about "the roadmap" he sees going forward. Not saying it's wrong, but...

    Best course played & why?

I've absolutely no idea and I'm sure on a different day, I might give a different answer. Right now, for "full experience," so course, hospitality and facilities, a couple come to mind. Birkdale and Muirfield. Faultless. Edit: proving my initial comment, Archerfield and Trump Aberdeen...

Why can't slope ratings be more fluid?

Painswick is sufficiently idiosyncratic to be a one off. 🤣 But it is a valid example of the numbers on scorecard being unrepresentitve of the challenge ahead!

Why can't slope ratings be more fluid?

All true, but virtually everyone can reach the green in "regulation!" 😉

Why can't slope ratings be more fluid?

Given your ball striking, you'd be in with a shot at that!

Why can't slope ratings be more fluid?

I tend to play my best golf on a different course to my home course. Maybe that's because it suits my eye more, my game more and has absolutely nothing to do with the slope rating.🤣🤣🤣

Why can't slope ratings be more fluid?

Counties can't be short of Raters as we have so many experts on here!🤣🤣
