Bobmac had the right idea (as usual)! I've been through this cycle. Quite humbling.
Maybe I can share something to help you.
I'm now using my knowledge/understanding to use the clubs bounce more and move away from excessive forward shaft lean unless the shot I see requires that. If my pro...
Obviously they help! Most pro's and competitive amateurs have them.
Especially Helps to use one for your feet and one a few feet directly in front of your ball, either stuck into ground or lying on ground.
So you can reference the line you want the ball to start on - that will help on the golf...
Personally, I'd be getting on the phone to captain or vice captain or a committee member to better understand what the conditions/rules are and how come they came to that decision. Then I'd take my stance...
Sometimes you learn that there's reasons for these things - and you often haven't...
Oh dear mate, I feel for you. Been through similar myself. AimPoint Express helped me a huge amount, the number of long putts I get really close now is amazing compared to where I was two years ago.
All you need to do is locate the mid-point of your putt and work out which way the slope is...
Never ever take driver - it's just too risky. You might even hit a fairway and have fun... just don't do it.
All so easy to say now, after having a shocker off the tee in the club champs... LOL
Another vote for AimPoint Express (when money allows!).
Mis-reading a green is almost certainly not always the only reason(s) why you're missing putts.
You're probably not understanding the variables. Not understanding the putt itself.
It's not the green - that the easy bit, working out...
The goal is inside 6ft, that's where "make" stats start to swing heavily in favour of chip & 1-putt.
Some easy ones you'll look to get really close or even hole, but the main goal will always be inside 6ft.
But the key is to constantly change your challenge to keep it realistic, gain knowledge...
Haha!
For matchplay... I use
Apply Some Pressure by Maximo Park
I'd like to wait to see how things turn out
If you apply some pressure
I like to wait to see how things turn out
If you apply some pressure!
What happens when you lose everything?
You just start again
You start all over again
But like you said, your 3w and Hybrid doesn't give you more accuracy.
So you are not sacrificing a little distance - you're giving up masses!
As I said "You can't gain distance without improving quality of your movement or the quality of the strike"
Distance is a result of a clubhead doing...
The shorter you hit it - the better your approach and short game needs to be.
If you can make gains in distance then you should do it.
You can't gain distance without improving quality of your movement or the quality of the strike
That will have an impact throughout the bag. A little gain...
Me too - used to really struggle, sometimes still do. It happens, you have to accept it. I read about 20 books. Attended seminars & mind coaching etc.
I won't say I didn't learn anything but nothing stopped the thoughts and rage of messing up a shot, a hole, a round etc.
It was getting to the...
