Just got back from the Boro match. Really disappointing, especially after Wednesday. Feels like we are bottling it. I’ve got tickets for Blackburn away next week. Feel like sacking it off at the minute.
Terrible result for Middlesbrough. Some woeful performances. Props to Charlton, they did what they came to do. But we’ve got to be alert to those tactics and be able to break them down. Our lack of a decent centre forward continues to haunt us.
At the vets yesterday we were sat in the busy waiting room. An owner came in with a really nervous Labrador, which was shaking. The owner wasn’t compassionate, dragging and being really short/curt. The receptionist was lovely. Made a real fuss of the dog - calmly stroking and giving cuddles, in...
Boro well beaten tonight by a very physical Coventry team. Stops the momentum we were building. But we go again on Saturday. Still plenty to be resolved at the top of the Championship.
Small Prophets. Watched after hearing it was McKenzie Crooks new show. It started well with some gentle comedic moments and a really good cast. Initially there were vibes of The Detectorists. But the premise is a little bit odd to say the least and not really my cup of tea. Finished it, but was...
Whilst I appreciate what your relative has described, it sounds quite antiquated. But as mentioned, what suits some roles/industries won’t suit others. We have offices all over the country and teams split similarly. We practice hot desking and when I do go in the office, I may not always sit...
I’m very much in the pro wfh camp. I go in the office once or twice a week. They’re usually my most unproductive days. The commute is a factor. I naturally start later and finish earlier than I would if I was at home. I work in an open plan office. Apart from the usual water cooler moments and...
I didn’t realise they were struggling. They’ve invested quite a lot recently too. I played it twice last year and many times in total, a decent course. Lovely food in the clubhouse too. Hopefully they can get a buyer/investor and it doesn’t become a housing development.
Surely for the majority of parents (including those who are teachers) it would be better if meetings/parents evenings were outside of usual work hours. I’m not having a dig at teachers. Their job isn’t easy. But I’d imagine a productive meeting/parents evening would require parents to be there…...
Eh? What a weird perspective. The trips would be running with or without my daughter. And I wouldn’t want to see her miss out on experiences if it’s something she wants to do and we can afford. We’re not going to go skiing on a family holiday for example, as we seek the sun.
What would be much...
The expectations and lack of awareness schools have around parents winds me up. Holding meetings/parents ‘evenings’ in mid afternoon is one minor gripe that highlights it. But school trips take it to the next level. We’ve picked up our 13 year old tonight from a skiing trip to Italy. She’s had...
A combination of tablets and having it on ice/compression ‘loosened’ my ankle by lunchtime. Went for a leisurely swim to test the water (no pun intended) and all good.
I got back and the dog was looking at me with quizzical eyes as my non-working days usually involve a long walk and/or a trip...
