I found that swinging more vertically rather than wider helped greatly with contact with my 4 iron. My issue is in the downswing I am doing something wrong and sometimes I catch too much of the tee rather than the ball. I think it's just me not quite rotating enough as I go through the downswing...

I'm 6'3 and 19 years old which might explain why I can hit the ball a bit further, but I am missing a lot of consistency with the wedges so I might have to get custom fitted seperately for wedges as they just feel a bit too short in my hands.

Went out to the range again this evening. Consistently hitting my 8 iron 140-145 carry. Struggling with wedges but when I connect my PW is going 120-130 carry. 4 iron was brought out again and that carried between 160-175. Had a few shots with that where I actually gained a bit of height which...

They are really nice, I think they had been cleaned before they were sent out but I'm not sure. Got green marks on the bottom of the club from the mat annoyingly but that won't affect the performance of course.

I hadn't hit a 4 iron in a very long time, so I was very, very happy with how I was striking it yesterday. I can try to get a video of it but this forum doesn't seem to have the biggest MB limit. I do want to get (or at least test out) a 3 and 5 hybrid.

I have been looking for G425 but I need them in the right spec and if I did find one it might be out of my budget for irons. I'll see how I get on with the G30's for a while then maybe in the future invest in a more modern set.

There was one near me that wasn't a scam but most of them in that price range are for sure. Though the thing that puts me off on the G425 is apparently its quite loud, so not sure if I should be looking elsewhere for a driver.

The G30 irons I ordered come with a 30 day return guarantee so if I don't like them I can send them back. I got them off of golfclubs4cash on eBay. But when I decide on whether I want a hybrid or not, then I will definitely go to golfbidder or wherever I see one that I am after.

I needed a green dot which the clubs I have ordered are. They are also 1/2 an inch longer so I am going to the range on Monday if they turn up then to hit some balls. I'll probably make a seperate thread on that when it happens.

I am readily checking FB Marketplace, there were a few Ping G425 MAX drivers near me that were around £200. It's difficult to tell sometimes whether they are scams though and that's why I'd rather buy off of a reputable seller. Have seen some very good deals on FB though.

The set I ordered comes with a PW and a SW. I agree a 50° might be needed if I think there is too much of a gap between the PW and SW.
