All the different ideas are great food for thought. I've just tried out the Phil Mickelson method and it works really well playing off the front and back foot for different trajectories. I noticed he uses a 60 degree wedge for chipping. Just wondering what clubs other people use?
Thanks very much for the replies. The reason I was wanting to learn to use the bounce was for playing pitches / chips off tight lies. What would you suggest for those types of lies?
I'm a 26 handicap golfer, only play about once a week. Someone at my club recently showed me showed me how to do short pitch shots using the bounce of the club. He opened the club face slightly and positioned the ball slightly forwards. I've tried it but with mixed results. Quite often the ball...

I've videod myself in the garden swinging with no club and can get my shoulder under my chin and keep my arm fairly straight, but when swinging a club the arm bends quite a lot, unless I do about 1/2 swing. Must be something to do with how I'm gripping the club presumably?
Someone playing with me told me I was bending my left elbow before the top of the backswing and that it would lead to a loss of power and inconsistency. I've tried to practice keeping my left arm straight in the garden but am finding it difficult to do a full shoulder turn whilst keeping it...
Hi, please could anyone tell me what 17u, 18u, 19u mean on the JPX 850 fairway wood? Just bought it second hand and wanting to adjust it correctly.
Thanks
Rob
I also found the other video useful, which used a decoy tee peg in the middle of the stance to help you keep your head back whilst looking at the ball maker's name before hitting the ball.
