Creating a ramp with a Spurk golf mat.

Just I quick add to my earlier post. I am satisfied that had the R&A wished to penalise a player for not placing the mat at parallel to the ground beneath it they would of said so in MLR E -12. Ditto to using the mat to aid direction of play.

Creating a ramp with a Spurk golf mat.

As a referee, I acknowledge that the position not 100% clear, however I am not sure how the authorities could make it so without severly impacting the pace of play or restricting the type of mat that could be used. I am sure no one wishes to see the introduction of a list of comforming matts...

The all things EV chat thread

Octopus will if you so wish arrange installation of a charger, though any competent electrician should be able to do. Cheapest tariff with Octopus is inteligent go, which gives 6 hrs at 7.5p now, though peak rate is a kittle mor3 than the variable rate, so make sure you will be charging often...

    Wills Question

That is all well and good, but we don't know what is going to happen to us in the meantime. We may not be in control of our own facalties when that time comes and so may not be able to change a will made now. My advice would be to make provision in the will now, but be prepared to make...

    Age for seniors

Then I'll be happy to answer your original question now I have the facts. The club in question has made a business decision as that is what businesses do, they will only find out if it was a crazy decision at the end of the year, but I doubt very much that it will prove to have been so.

    Age for seniors

Let me get this right there is a seniors rate for green fee's at this club. That is something I have never come across after paying green fee's at over 300 clubs. Very few clubs round here still offer cheaper membership fee's either.

    Annual subscription 2026

For full membership including affiliation fee's that is exactly the same as ours. This year I get a 5% loyalty discount taking it down to £1,333. We've also been closed since Friday, and given the flooding we had on the course, I doubt it will be open before the middle of the week...

    Annual subscription 2026

Ours have just been annonced, a flat £50 across all categories with the exception of juniors. This means a small decrease for me as I become eligible for a 5% loyalty discount.

Handicap manipulation - how to address

As would I, but even as a single figure player I also know that I'd also take four on occasion, my average score though would be closer to 3 than anything else and that is the only figure that should be used. As I continue to belief such decisions will only be required once or twice a round so...

    Opens and Prizes

I couldn't agree more, as annoying as such scores are, I've long learned to just live with it and enjoy the day out.

Handicap manipulation - how to address

Sorry but MLS is no more down to the individual whims of the player than any score they choose to write down. For bpth their are a set of rules that the player is required to adhere too.

Handicap manipulation - how to address

Exactly, I am failing to see how MLS provides less accuracy than a score automatically added for a hole a player did not even tee off from.

Handicap manipulation - how to address

Similarly if that is happening that many times ina round then their score is very unlikley to be one of their top 8 scores so will have no or very very little effect on their handicap. Yet if they have scored well on their other holes in thew current system, they will likely to allocated 1.5...

Handicap manipulation - how to address

Not for every round, but in my expereince it only happens when players are having a poor round anyway, so the score will very unlikley be one of their best 8 rounds.

Handicap manipulation - how to address

That is simply not my expereince, in any group I have ever played in a player will not pick up until they cannot under any circumstances contribute to the hole. So either their partner has holed out (or in match play their opponent) or they are not able to score a point. I agree on your...
